Specializing in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), Trauma-informed care, Reproductive Health and Gender Expansive Care
At Expansive Practice, you will experience the opportunity to be seen, heard and supported in your own healing. You know yourself best. I promise to guide you with care along your path using a combination of Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy and a trauma-informed approach. Our work together will be grounded in the core values of equity, inclusivity, bodily autonomy, accessibility and cultural sensitivity.
I have over 20 years of experience in the Social Work field and more than a decade at Planned Parenthood. It's been my privilege to work with people across the spectrum of age, gender/sexuality and cultural experience. I am excited to offer Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) through Journey Clinical as well as no-cost mental health evaluations for people in need of letters of support for gender affirming surgery. My commitment to reproductive justice inspires me to be a proud Pro-Choice Therapist . I have training in trauma-informed, evidenced-based treatments and have completed courses in Addictions, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma, DBT, Self Injury, Crisis Intervention and Trans/GNC Healthcare. My practice integrates years of experience while never losing sight of Social Work's most basic tenet, "meeting clients where they are."
I offer a therapeutic modality called Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP): the use of ketamine as a complement to psychotherapy. I deliver KAP in my practice in partnership with an organization called Journey Clinical , which has a specialized medical team that determines eligibility for KAP, prescribes ketamine lozenges and supports me in monitoring outcomes. If that sounds interesting to you, let's connect to discuss your next best steps.
Welcome to Expansive Practice. I look forward to joining you in this nontraditional and exciting approach to healing. I have witnessed and experienced how Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy can change negative thought patterns, shift perspectives, and accelerate therapy. All it requires is your openness and trust to get there.
Please email me (rachelg@expansivepractice.com) if you have other questions.
Absolutely. Expansive Practice is a LGBTQIA+ friendly practice. No matter how you identify, I am excited to work together.
It varies between individuals. Typically there will be one or two preparation sessions before the first "dosing" session, the Ketamine experience. Following a Ketamine session there is at least one integration session to begin the work that becomes possible after Ketamine. On average you will have 6-8 dosing sessions.
I offer both in person and virtual sessions. For Ketamine Dosing sessions I prefer in person for at least the first time. Preparation and integration sessions lend themselves better to whichever is best for you. Please contact me to schedule an appointment.
At Expansive Practice, I take your privacy seriously. All information shared in therapy sessions is confidential and will not be shared with anyone without your explicit consent.
At Expansive Practice, I am able to accept Optum, Aetna and Cigna health insurances. I do not accept payment for Letters of Support. I also offer sliding scale and am open to creating payment plans that allow for access to a wide population. My goal is to expand access so you can expand your consciousness.
